Vinyl Williams, grandson of John Williams, returns with his fifth album titled Azure. This marks a turning point in the career of the Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter as he seeks to find a balance between his ethereal sunshine pop and new Brazilian influences, evoking both contemporary psychedelic rock and the funky MPB of Arthur Verocai. Also a visual artist and videographer (for Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Tears For Fears, Morgan Delt…), Vinyl Williams has glued together hundreds of paintings to create surreal graphics reminiscent of dreamlike, new age, and therapeutic landscapes. He approaches his music in the same way, creating a harmony, a delicate tension, an aesthetic of melancholy that bridges the real, tangible world and an escape into the realm of the unconscious, transcendental, and imaginary. Azure opens the Pandora's box, floating in space, cradled by subtle tropical melodies; perhaps you will reach an alternative level of consciousness, providing you with well-being and escape in this brutal world.
