Description

Víkingur Ólafsson has barely finished his world tour with Bach's Goldberg Variations, and he's already releasing six new interpretations of the composer's work, four of which he arranged himself. He recorded the piano arrangements of Bach's sacred music at the Harpa concert hall in Reykjavík in January. Víkingur Ólafsson: “When I play Bach's works, I realize that historical eras in music are concepts we project onto something that is fundamentally a continuum: an uninterrupted flow that connects us all, a current that flows through us – which Germans, incidentally, call ‘Bach’ (a stream).” “Continuum” is Víkingur Ólafsson’s diary dedicated to Bach, a dialogue with his music, and an ongoing tribute to his artistic creation.
