The English band Ulrika Spacek follows up on The Album Paranoia (early 2016) with the release of their second album Modern English Decoration. "The writing of 'Full of Men' came at an important time when we were working on this second album. We quickly knew it would characterize the record; it marks a particular era. Lyrically, it's quite aggressive for us. Sometimes I just feel like there are too many men in this world," the band explains. Just like on their first album, the band chose to record, produce, and mix the album in the house they share – the former art gallery 'Ken' (named after a cryptic inscription found above the front door). Ken is not only their studio and home; it is essentially the band's creative space, where they make their videos, photos, and artworks. "We love listening to music in the album format, and we want our records to reflect that," explains Rhys Edwards (guitars, vocals, synth), "Although we may explore that in the future, our albums are not improv albums. We are fans of collages, and we create our music in the same way."
