After Timeless and its staggering modern reinterpretation of works by figures from classical music, the producer continues his exploration and flourishes by practicing instrumental music that leads him to feel much closer to the classical universe in this masterful Thylacine (and 74 musicians), where the native of Angers succeeds in the feat of reinventing the admittedly well-trodden exercise, in recent years, of blending electronic fury with classical orthodoxy. With, at the outset, the desire to extend the magic of Timeless, but by going much further, and recording with a real orchestra and in live conditions. To create both the electronic versions of classical pieces, but also the classical versions of some of his own emblematic tracks such as Polar or War Dance, Thylacine was joined by conductor, arranger, and herself producer Uèle Lamore, who transcribed all the scores to be performed by the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire and the Maîtrise des Pays de la Loire. A serious challenge with multiple bravura moments such as the breathtaking contribution of the young, exalted violinist Luka Faulisi on Vivaldi, a totally hit-worthy reinterpretation of L'Hiver, from the famous Four Seasons, or the captivating intertwining of world-renowned guitarist Thibault Cauvin who, on the epic Albéniz, delivers a part that grows increasingly energetic as the track progresses. If the now 31-year-old producer has often heard, after his concerts, delighted people say: “usually, I don’t like electronic music, but this is really different,” we can be certain that this album will be the occasion for part of his audience (and beyond) to declare: “usually, I don’t like classical music, but this is really different.” Oh yes.
