‘On The Far Side’ was recorded under the direction of wide-angle director Daniel Yvinec, where Thomas Naïm reconnects with his first love, Jazz, blending it with his long-standing influences of pop, psychedelic rock, film soundtracks, and a thousand other things... Through 9 tracks, each like a short film, he offers us, alongside Marc Benham (piano, Hammond organ), Marcello Guilliani (bass), and Raphael Chassin (drums, percussion), a cinematic journey, unfolding strange and mysterious soundscapes that would not be out of place in the works of David Lynch or Quentin Tarantino. Laurent Bardainne (saxophone) brings a creative breeze to three tracks, giving this unique album a strength and an almost mystical color. With this new release, Thomas Naïm joins the select club of storytelling guitarists who, beyond styles, take us through worlds of relief, surprises, and colors. A one-way ticket to an unknown destination.
