After returning to independence with the launch of his own label Tomika in 2020 and a busy 2022 (opening for Robert Plant & Alison Krauss and Charley Crockett, Americana Fest in Nashville) along with a tour in Europe, Theo Lawrence unveils a new album titled Chérie. A collection of 12 tracks, recorded in Nashville and navigating between ultra-romantic and thrilling ballads, Cajun sounds from Louisiana, silky string arrangements, and epic vocal flights that take you back to the golden age of pop music with Roy Orbison and Frank Sinatra. Theo Lawrence is a young Franco-Canadian singer-songwriter based in Bordeaux. His music is rooted in the country music of the 50s and 60s, while borrowing elements from soul, pop, and rock’n’roll of the same era. A blend of styles and sounds, deeply rooted in tradition, while bearing the mark of modern times. Theo brings a new sound to traditional American music and confirms with this new album that he is part of the prolific new North American country scene.
