XX is the debut studio album by London indie pop band The XX, released on August 17, 2009, on the Young Turks label. The self-produced album was recorded at XL Studios in London between December 2008 and April 2009. Upon its release, XX was critically acclaimed by the indie pop music scene and received the Mercury Prize in 2010. XX remained on the UK Albums Chart for eighty-seven weeks and was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. As of September 2011, UK album sales totaled 405,000 copies.
