Description

Considered one of the iconic British rock bands of the 80s, it only took them one studio album to propel themselves to the forefront of the alternative rock scene. A timeless blend of sixties strings and eighties rhythms, the sound of Stone Roses has stood the test of time without aging a day. The hit singles, including “Made of Stone” and “Fools Gold,” both chosen at the time as ‘Singles of the Week’ by the weekly New Musical Express, the bible for British rock fans, propelled their self-titled album, released in May 1989, to the top of the charts. 5 years later, following their breakthrough with the general public, the band released in December 1994 a second and final opus, “Second Coming,” which also enjoyed huge success across the Channel. Legacy Recordings is therefore pleased to offer a selection of the best tracks from these 2 mythical albums on 180-gram Double Vinyl, in a limited edition. In this year 2016, The Stone Roses have reunited and will play at many festivals, including 4 sold-out nights in mid-June at Manchester Etihad Stadium as well as at Madison Square Garden in New York.
