After The Shins' debut album in 2001, Oh, Inverted World, singer, songwriter, and guitarist James Mercer and drummer Jesse Sandoval moved from Albuquerque to Portland, and bassist Neal Langford was replaced by Dave Hernandez (formerly of Scared Of Chaka).
