For the first time since its release in 2022, alongside his brand new EP 'Les Cigales', The Offline's first EP 'En clair-obscur' will be available on vinyl. The prolific composer based in Hamburg, The Offline, is back, inviting listeners to join the cast of his ever-expanding Mediterranean cinematic universe with the new single "Fumée." This single is the first glimpse of his upcoming EP "Les Cigales," which builds on the blend of instrumental hip-hop and library music explored in his acclaimed 2023 debut album, "La couleur de la mer." Les Cigales draws inspiration from the structure of film and television music from the 60s and 70s, channeling the influence of film composers such as François de Roubaix and David Axelrod, while sitting somewhere between the washed-out, sunny sounds of Surprise Chef and Robohands. As the EP unfolds, its narrative reflects a love story, full of nostalgia, melancholy, and drama, linked to the tale of Gyptis and Protis - the founding myth of Marseille - whose love broke conventions and welcomed the arrival of foreign people on French soil. The EP "En Clair-Obscur" has captured the essence of his journey and the feeling of a fresh summer soundtrack. His music has been supported by Huey Morgan and Deb Grant (BBCR6), as well as by Somewhere Soul, Rinse FM, Radio FIP, Jazz FM, and many others, accumulating millions of streams and selling hundreds of records.
