The new song, "Blacklight Shine", is the first music from Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez under the banner of The Mars Volta since the album Noctourniquet in 2012. The band made waves after the appearance of a mysterious cube at Grand Park in Los Angeles on June 19, 2022, offering a very special auditory experience to fans. "L'ytome Hodorxí Telesterion", an audiovisual art installation, was erected to tell the story of The Mars Volta's return. Inside the cube, visitors were taken on a complete and immersive journey through space, where "Blacklight Shine" was heard for the first time by the public. The experience inside the cube aimed to provoke self-reflection, with the only fan guiding a journey through endless galaxies and a return to earth, to oneself.
