Available on vinyl for the first time in the United States, the album contains what the Rolling Stones called "their triptych of classics" referring to the tracks "The Drowners", "Metal Mickey" and "Animal Nitrate", all three of which appear on the album. At the time, the album's release in the United States was hindered by an injunction from an existing American band also called Suede. As a result, the band's subsequent albums in the United States were "branded" as being by "The London Suede". The London Suede is one of the band's cult albums; upon its release in 1993, it was the best-selling debut album in the history of the United Kingdom.
