The Liminanas, a band from the Perpignan region, with at its center a couple-duo Marie (drums) & Lionel (guitars, vocals), is undoubtedly one of the beautiful musical stories of the moment. After 3 albums released both in underground mode and also in the US by independent American labels, the band was invited by Jack White to come play in his studio, Anton Newcombe (Brian Jonestown Massacre), Andrew Weatherhall & Pascal Comelade sing their praises. How to explain such word-of-mouth? Perhaps because The Liminanas' music happily mixes garage rock, psychedelia, pop, and French new wave culture, and the listener is taken on a strange narrative, in French and English, by multiple contributors, where it is about beaches, convenience stores, Italian cinema, a broken Greece, and a thousand other things. Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order), also charmed by their music, came to lay down his bass and voice on the track "Garden Of Love." "Malamore," their 4th studio album, will be released on April 15, 2016, by Because Music, which had reissued their previous albums on vinyl. The time for broader media exposure has come: a superb reception, among other things, from all the French rock critics, and a concert at the Printemps de Bourges on the day of the release.
