It was last February that the band reappeared by posting a track on YouTube, "I See You," one of the first tracks written for this new album, which gave them a clear direction for the rest of the songs. "I See You" confirms the continuation of their psychedelic synth atmosphere. The band once again moves away from the sounds of their early days for a new-wave turn that they had already begun on *Skying*. Recorded in complete seclusion in their East London studio, *Luminous* was produced by the band, aided by Craig Silvey (Noah and the Whale, Jamie Cullum, Arcade Fire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs...). In their ambition to constantly move forward, the band wanted to make a dazzling and authentic album by incorporating more electronic elements. The opening track, "Chasing Shadows," is a perfect example; it was conceived as a techno track with a progressive build towards the light, creating a danceable tune. Ever the perfectionist, frontman Faris recently declared that *Luminous* was by far the best album they had ever composed! And we can only agree with him. *Luminous* is the most accessible album the band has released to date, and should allow them to expand their audience in France.
