The Hoosiers. Formed in 2003, when Alan Sharland (drummer) and Irwin Sparkes (singer) were on an American football scholarship at the University of Indianapolis, the duo drew on their experience to create the band's name, The Hoosiers, which comes from the colloquial term for a citizen of Indiana, a "Hoosier". In 2007, the band signed with RCA and the current trio, consisting of Sparkes, Sharland and Skarendahl (keyboards), released their debut album, The Trick To Life.
