Fueled by the joy of having created their 2022 album, "Confidence," the Hoosiers are making a spectacular return to the music scene. With their sixth album, Irwin Sparkes and Alan Sharland pick up where they left off, refining a more mature version of the jubilant sound that brought them to prominence in 2007. Their reflections led them to question: why bother producing an album, despite the significant costs, at a time when the genre is so little respected? "The interactions with fans after the release of 'Confidence' took on an unexpected scale, and we couldn't afford to lose something so precious," explains Irwin. With "Compassion," Al and Irwin aimed to convey to the listener this newfound confidence in their art and identity. This time, the question of the album's direction was approached in a novel way: "Releasing an album is like revealing your intentions. So we wanted to think of it as if a genie were granting us a wish," explains Al Sharland. "On a personal and political level, it's clear that we all need more compassion."
