Music For 'Kids' collects the entire output of The Folk Implosion, comprising Lou Barlow and John Davis, around their original works that made up the lion’s share of the soundtrack to Kids, alongside contemporaneous B-sides, outtakes, and remixes. Closely followed by Harmony Korine, the enfant terrible who wrote the original screenplay for Kids, Barlow felt Davis' sensibilities lent themselves better to what he envisioned for the soundtrack than to the aesthetic of his other musical projects. With engineer/producer Wally Gagel, studio experimentation and playfulness provided an invaluable sonic counterpoint to the radical cinema it accompanied, made all the more surprising by the fact that "Natural One" became a legitimate US Top 40 hit. This is the first time the soundtrack will be available on DSPs. This reissue is available as a standard CD and a double LP with a mirror-board jacket, designed by Rob Carmichael, on black vinyl (standard edition).
