Description
This gray album, as one of its songs ("All Cats are Grey") indicates quite well, is morbid, as marked by the death of Tolhurst's mother ("The Funeral Party"), picks up where "Seventeen Seconds" left off. Dominated by Simon Gallup's bass, often passed through the flanger, it once again features hypnotic, repetitive rhythms, an anguished voice drowned in reverb: the Cure's "cold wave" style par excellence... The single, "Primary," is the fastest track, but not the happiest (well, the least sad...). Compared to "Closer" by Joy Division by the press, this album will rank 14th in the English charts...Buy Faith at the best price
