Welsh outfit The Bug Club return for their annual fixture with the garage rock artisan market, and deliver a quality new record. Fourth album, *Very Human Features*, arrives barely a year after the band's Sub Pop debut, *On the Intricate Inner Workings of the System* (2024). That record allowed the band to continue their love affair with BBC Radio 6, begin a new one with KEXP through a session with them, and appear in the pages of NME. This record gives the band an excuse to continue their never-ending touring and feed their delirious and impatient fans with the band's incessant output of a new batch of typically playful, riff-laden, and intelligent Bug Club Tunes. On a trip to America, they caught the attention of Sub Pop and the American public. The partnership proved fruitful, and with Sup Pop they tackled *Very Human Features*. A whirlwind of literary, self-referential, and humorous rock 'n' roll, the new album sees the band surfing their wave of popularity as if it were a quick rollerblade ride in the Aldi car park in Caldicot.
