Fête foraine

Description

In 1996, the album "fête foraine" was released. It was a discreet release for an album often considered by fans to be a peak in the Australian band's discography. Remastered by Don Bartley, who also worked on the original record, this new edition contains unreleased photos by Bleddyn Butcher (long-time photographer for Nick Cave). The artwork has been recomposed from the original sleeve by the equally legendary Pascal Blua. "fête foraine," a six-hand recording with Peter on acoustic guitar, Chris Abrahams on piano, and Miroslav Bukovsky (trumpet and flugelhorn), is a surprising cornerstone in The Apartments' precious discography. Peter Milton Walsh revisits ten songs from his previous albums, stripping them of almost everything. Everything except the emotion that runs through him, carried here by his voice, still and always, the piano notes, and the acoustic guitar. Much more than a stylistic exercise for connoisseurs, "fête foraine" is a record of raw, unique, and essential sensitivity.
