The Alan Parsons Project's multi-million selling prog pop tour de force, The Turn of a Friendly Card, is being reissued in various formats, including a CD edition with 4 unreleased tracks, a half-speed mastered vinyl edition, and an audiophile 2LP heavyweight 45 rpm maxi edition.
Their 5th studio album is a concept album that explores the themes of the gambling industry and the fate of gamblers. The album was a worldwide success, achieving platinum and gold status in many countries.
As with other Alan Parsons Project albums, several vocalists participated in the recording, including Chris Rainbow, Lenny Zakatek, Elmer Gantry, and Eric Woolfson himself. Additionally, a selection of studio musicians such as guitarists Ian Bairnson and David Paton, and drummer Stuart Elliott, contributed, with arrangements by Andrew Powell.
