Discover Tèr Laba's debut album, Valerie Chane Tef's new project that reinterprets and modernizes the Réunionnais repertoire. Tèr laba... the elsewhere. The place we come from, the place that shapes us, the place we always return to. Valerie Chane Tef wanted to sing about the elsewhere, her own, Réunion. Between compositions and covers, this album is an opportunity to (re)discover her island through well-known songs and original tracks that tell intimate stories. Valerie Chane Tef also sought the elsewhere in Florence Vincenot (on piano), Thierry Fanfant (on bass) from Guadeloupe, Inor Sotolongo (on percussion) from Cuba, and Albert Ganho (on drums) from Benin. These artists are all rooted in their culture and eager to serve delicate, moving, danceable, and deceptively naive music. Tèr laba therefore champions the freedom to be oneself, the right to be multifaceted, the right to be from here, and from elsewhere. All mixed by David Fackeur.
