Construçcao

Description

Construção (1971) is the fifth studio album by Chico Buarque, released after his return from exile in Italy, during the Brazilian military dictatorship. Considered a masterpiece of Brazilian music (3rd best album of all time according to Rolling Stone Brazil), it marks a turning point in his work due to its political and social engagement. The album, where almost all the tracks have become classics, addresses with biting irony and poetic depth the inequalities, the exploitation of workers, and repression. The title track, "Construção," is a striking example: it tells the life and death of a construction worker, with an innovative lyrical structure and a scathing critique of the system.
