Description

The duo Tempers, composed of Jasmine Golestaneh and Eddie Cooper, has carved out its own niche in the darker circles of indie, electronic, and synth-pop music. Their sounds illustrate both the exploration of tonal and emotional tension and the treatment of singular moments. Adrenaline-fueled yet hypnotic soundscapes are layered with mechanics and sensual impulses, while crystalline voices weave feverish dreams of desire and alienation. Through Golestaneh's involvement in musical performance and visual arts, Cooper's electronic production career, and their time spent in the United States and abroad, they function as a multidisciplinary entity in the vein of Factory Records. Tempers describes their creative process as a telepathic fraternity developed since they began making music together. After a series of critically acclaimed singles starting in 2013 with "Eyes Wide Wider" and "Hell Hotline," the duo released their debut album Services (2015) on the cult label Aufnahme + Wiedergabe. This album spawned the underground hit "Strange Harvest," triggering numerous international tours and sold-out concerts. The vinyl edition of the album, which quickly became a sought-after collector's item, is finally being reissued. In 2017, their EP Fundamental Fantasy was released following The Vinyl Factory's Volcano Extravaganza artist residency on the Aeolian island of Stromboli. Following their unique creative compass, in 2018, they moved indirectly from the dancefloor to galleries to deliver "Junkspace," a conceptual collaboration with the celebrated architect Rem Koolhaas—a testament to Tempers' love for experimental production. Finally, in 2019, Tempers signed with Dais Records, releasing Private Life and the first single "Capital Pains," a meticulous evolution of the dark pop that marked the duo's previous output.
