Voodoo Nation is the third studio album by the band and the fourth overall after West of Flushing, South of Frisco (2016), Californisoul (2017), and the live album Road Chronicles (2019).
The album starts with the track "Money," which talks about greed and the lack of respect for others. We also discover "Devil at the Doorstep," which is a pure bravura piece of 8 minutes featuring Eric Gales - whose recent album Crown was number 1 on the Blues Billboard. "Get It Done" was recorded with the participation of Los Angeles virtuoso, Josh Smith. "Do It Again" is another bomb featuring Ana Popovic, which talks about the happiness and blessing of being able to do what you love. On another track, King Solomon Hicks, a young blues sensation from Harlem, takes the vocals and guitar for the call to arms "You and Me."
Of course, we find the blues soul sound, the true trademark of the band on this new album. It beautifully explodes on "I Will Let It Go," featuring Kirk Fletcher. And on the sumptuous "Is It All," the legendary Joe Louis Walker exchanges vocal parts with Kris Barras in soul ballad mode. The album ends with the country blues-inspired song "All Our Love," featuring Charlie Starr from Blackberry Smoke.
