Precreation Percolation

Holder of the world record for the longest EP title of all time, the first EP – *Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyndrobwllantysiliogogogochynygofod (In Space)* – was released in 1995, followed the same year by *Moog Droog*; these two EPs make up the eight tracks of the vinyl version of *Precreation Percolation*. Later that year, with a recording contract on the table and future classics like "God! Show Me Magic" and "Hangin' With Howard Marks" already featured in the SFA's setlist, the band's path after "two years of chaos" was set. In the album's liner notes, singer Gruff Rhys writes: "It would have been the best concert of all time if we hadn't daisy-chained so many synthesizers, which led to a fatal system failure." By summer, they had joined Oasis, Primal Scream, and The Jesus and Mary Chain under the Creation Records family, resulting in a massive signing party in London from which the band members were famously ejected. This intriguing period of musical experimentation, blending lengthy electro, dreamy instrumentals, and expansive rock with prog influences, found in much of Precreation Percolation, was later refined and channeled into their exciting debut album of 1996, Fuzzy Logic, as well as their frenzied live performances. The vinyl version of this release (STR 079LP) compiles the tracks from their first two EPs originally released by Ankst, while the 22-track CD offers previously unreleased and unheard bonus tracks from that period. The vinyl edition comes with a copy of the CD presented in a fine cardboard sleeve. The CD includes a booklet.
