Argument: After months of composing and recording, Steven Wilson has announced the release of To The Bone, his 5th album. An ambitious record that he himself says is influenced by the pop/progressive works he loved in his youth. Sublime albums such as So by Peter Gabriel, Hounds of Love by Kate Bush, Colour of Spring by Talk Talk, and Seeds of Love by Tears For Fears. In terms of lyrics, the 11 tracks on this new album address the surrounding paranoid chaos, in which truth apparently becomes an increasingly blurred notion. From the observation of the daily lives of refugees, terrorists, and religious fundamentalists, to a return, eyes wide open and perhaps more joyful, to the escape that Steven has managed to create throughout his career so far. Available in physical and digital formats, To The Bone is also released in an ultra-limited Deluxe version with a 120-page book and a bonus CD filled with demos and unreleased songs. A 45 RPM vinyl with an instrumental version should also catch the attention of collectors.
