After months spent composing and recording, Steven Wilson has announced the release of To The Bone, his 5th album. An ambitious record that he himself describes as being influenced by the pop/progressive works he loved in his youth. Sublime albums such as Peter Gabriel's So, Kate Bush's Hounds of Love, Talk Talk's Colour of Spring, and Tears For Fears' Seeds of Love. Lyrically, the 11 tracks on this new album address the surrounding paranoid chaos, in which truth is seemingly becoming an increasingly blurred notion. From observing the daily lives of refugees, terrorists, and religious fundamentalists, as well as a wide-eyed and perhaps more joyful look back at the escape Steven has managed to create throughout his career so far. Available in physical and digital formats, To The Bone is also released in an ultra-limited Deluxe version with a 120-page book and a bonus CD packed with demos and unreleased songs. A 45-rpm vinyl record with an instrumental version should also catch the attention of collectors.
