Centered on Malkmus’s 12-string acoustic guitar, joined by Matt Sweeney’s guitar (Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Chavez), Traditional Techniques is the result of the work of the songwriter and studio engineer and arranger Chris Funk (The Decemberists). The result is an exciting album that highlights a songwriter still curious and determined to explore new horizons.
