Between 1967 and 1972, the most prominent of French jazzmen, violinist Stéphane Grappelli, settled at the Hilton Hotel in Paris. There he distilled a carefree jazz, full of grace and swing. It was in 1969, during this period of serenity, that he recorded this album. Accompanied by pianist Raymond Fol, guitarist Tony Ovio, bassist Jack Sewing, and drummer André Hartman, Stéphane Grappelli delights the listener with a repertoire full of sweetness between original compositions and Ellingtonian titles.
