Sensitive, lively, relevant, he belongs to this prestigious line of "soloist" and "accompanist" that included Earl Hines, Hank Jones, Tommy Flanagan, to name just a few. Stan Getz adored Kenny and granted him total freedom of expression during this series of concerts. Clearly, he wanted the creativity of a great pianist to flourish and for his own to seize the opportunity to take support from this formidable springboard and to be catapulted thanks to him.
