VERKLIGHETEN

Description

New orange double vinyl edition. Soilwork is a band that has been through a lot. We don’t need to try to tidy things up by using clichés like personal and/or musical differences. It has been hell. We have lost loved ones and close ones have fallen ill. We are no longer young, and our reality these days is the hounds of hell at our heels, the ghosts in our subconscious and the coldness of existence that begins to gnaw at your soul on the very day you leave the womb. We can no longer escape the fact that we are vulnerable to the flaws of life itself. ‘Verkligheten’ is the Swedish word for reality, the entity we are all trying to escape. ‘Verkligheten’ is our attempt to try to go elsewhere, to express everything that is born between hypnagogic states and the frenzies of hyperrealism. “Verkligheten” is the supernatural aspect of the anxiety of Swedish suburbs, accompanied by blastbeats and slide guitars.
