Description

Twelfth studio album by the Swedish melodic death metal band. Unlike the band’s previous albums, the creation process of Övergivenheten was very long and reflects the emotional state of the guys in the band. Recorded at Nordic Sound Lab in Skara, Sweden with producer Thomas “Plec” Johansson, who also produced the last two projects, the album was written and recorded in three sessions between January and December 2021. Musically, Övergivenheten is the continuation of SOILWORK’s legacy in recent years. The approach was to make the album as organic as possible. That is why, among other things, acoustic elements were incorporated into the songs, helping to make the sonic experience as close and authentic as possible. The album is intended to give the feeling of creating energy and feeling the atmosphere. To build this experience and, above all, give the listener the feeling of being at the center of the band’s creative environment, balance was needed, which external circumstances made difficult, especially due to the current global situation.
