"Confection" is a new surprise album by Sébastien Tellier to be released on October 14th on Record Makers. Instrumental except for one song, conceived as a film soundtrack, it is an off-format album. The eminently romantic musical themes are offered alternately in acoustic or orchestral versions. The climaxes follow one another subtly while provoking fertile imagination and strong emotions in the listener. To record it, Sebastien Tellier chose the artisanal method, in the studio, the old-fashioned way. It was an opportunity to gather around him the team with whom he had recorded the now-classic 'La Ritournelle': Tony Allen, Fela's drummer, on drums, Rob on keyboards, who also plays with Phoenix, Emmanuel d'Orlando on string arrangements, Philippe Zdar (producer of PHOENIX, THE RAPTURE and the BEASTIE BOYS) on mixing. 'Confection' is an album very close to the artist's soul, a testament to his deep know-how. It highlights his talent as a melodist and his very particular 'touch', in the manner of his early albums 'L'incroyable vérité' and 'Politics'. 'Confection' is a love letter intended for a film that does not yet exist. The cover and the music video for the song 'L'amour naissant' are by Jean-Baptiste Mondino. At the invitation of the Ile de France festival and for the first time in his career, Sebastien Tellier will perform on October 12, 2013 at La Cigale accompanied by a 20-piece string orchestra. Tony Allen will accompany him on drums, he will play 'Confection' in its entirety, then revisit his classics in new orchestral versions.
