In 2009, British Sea Power was commissioned by the Edinburgh Film Festival to create their own soundtrack for the 1934 quasi-documentary ‘Man of Aran,’ before performing it live for the first time during its screening. A studio version of the album followed in May of the same year, accompanied by a series of performances across the UK.
A stunning album, perfectly in sync with the original film but also possessing great qualities as a musical object in its own right.
