Revealed late but eager to make up for lost time, Sanseverino shifts into high gear with this third album specially brass-heavy (big band style), which highlights his barroom prose.
Comfortable in this swing, anything but stingy with words that he sometimes plays a bit too easily, Sanseverino sings about a "bitch who annoys him," "the man in his life," "the house by the port," and "the workers" with a swagger and a friendliness that honor and distinguish him, since the late 90s, from other representatives of the new French chanson.
When he calms his flow, he even manages to move us ("10 days before Paris") and shows himself particularly at ease in evoking the nostalgia of comrades, the more or less sensitive strings, and the big clichés of the 70s ("La valse à Peggy"). A lesson giver for laughs ("Le swing du Président"), Sanseverino remains, however, unable to hide his game and his convictions, intimate and very current. A personality trait that contributes to his soaring popularity.
