RUBINOOS

Description

The self-titled debut album by the Rubinoos, released in 1977, is a classic of power pop featuring the hit "I Think We're Alone Now," as well as the anthem "Rock And Roll Is Dead," which, in the context of the disco era when this album was released, was almost prophetic. At the time of its release, the influential New York Rocker declared the album to be "The best pop album of the decade." The band performed on American Bandstand and graced the covers of numerous teen magazines, all riding the wave of their debut album's success. More recently, the song "I Think We're Alone Now" was notably featured in the opening scene of the first episode of the third season of Sex Education on Netflix, introducing the band to a new generation of fans.
