Rose City Band is a group from Portland producing a sunny, psychedelic country rock genre led by guitarist and singer Ripley Johnson (of Moon Duo). The group takes its roots in the self-productions and psychedelic music of the 1970s. With their new album Sol Y Sombra, Rose City Band seeks to represent the wide-open spaces of the American West by presenting a holistic approach to their music: still very airy, it here consists of a delicate blend between dark and radiant passages, between subtle and familiar sonorities.
