In the sometimes subtle, sometimes powerful swirls that undulate through the music of Robin Foster, an English multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter, influences emerge in small touches: Talk Talk, Sigur Ros, New Order, or The Smiths. But other inspirations also nourish the Briton's "cinematic post-rock": the images of Michael Mann, Ridley Scott, and David Lynch; the music of Ennio Morricone as well. Cinema and television hold a special place in Robin Foster's personal soundtrack, and the mark of this is naturally found in his music. Robin Foster today presents his new album Empyrean: This fourth album is mostly instrumental, with the exception of two tracks for which Robin enlisted Ndidi O, whose voice elevates the song Everlast, and Pamela Hute, author and singer of The Hardest Party.
