The Tokyo concert

Description

Maestro of the accordion, Richard Galliano found an attentive and respectful audience in Japan. In 2018, for his fourth stay in the archipelago since 1975, he gave three solo concerts in Tokyo during a classical music festival. Presented here, this concert showcases his unique talent for bringing his personal, sensitive touch to composers from all backgrounds, from the masters of classical music (Bach, Debussy, Chopin, Satie) to Brazilian tunes, not to mention, of course, popular French music illustrated by musette and a man like Claude Nougaro and Michel Legrand. Richard Galliano has always considered the accordion as an orchestra all by itself. Dusting off, the king instrument of popular dances, it imprints its evocative power on all music. The Victoria, the Stradivarius of the accordion, becomes under the fingers of the Nice artist 'a Steinway with straps'
