Just after the release of his new track "10/10," Rex Orange County announces the details of his new album "Pony." This highly anticipated album follows "Apricot Princess," released in 2017. The album was written, recorded, and performed almost entirely by Rex himself at Strongroom Studios in East London, with his recurring collaborator Ben Baptie co-producing, recording, and mixing the album. Rolling Stone described the single "10/10" as "triumphant" and a "song we need to know"; NPR referred to the track as "a sincere and heartbreaking gem." The album follows his notable performances at several major festivals this year, including Glastonbury in England (where he performed "10/10" for the first time), We Love Green in Paris, Lollapalooza in Berlin, and the Laneway Festival in Australia. Rex Orange County, whose real name is Alexander O'Connor, is a 21-year-old English artist and songwriter. To date, he has independently amassed over a billion streams and has self-released two albums – "bcos u will never b free" (2016) and "Apricot Princess" (2017). In 2017, he also contributed to Tyler The Creator's album "Flower Boy." His singles "Best Friend," "Loving Is Easy," and "Sunflower" each have over 125 million streams, with "Loving Is Easy" now certified gold in the United States and Australia. In 2018, he made his television debut on Jimmy Fallon's show (performing "Loving Is Easy") and embarked on a major tour, including an epic performance at Glastonbury where he headlined the Park Stage to close the festival.
