Daniel is the instrumental acoustic sequel to From Anywhere (2022), released on the Karma Chief label. This album broadens the horizon of Reverend Baron, aka Danny Garcia, leaving behind the urban landscapes of Los Angeles for the vibrancy of Mexico City and the plains of Red Cloud in Nebraska. At the heart of this journey is a nylon-string acoustic guitar, a precious family heirloom that belonged to his father and grandfather. This instrument, which has become a true talisman over the years, carries with it a lineage and a deep history. Through his improvisations, Garcia has sought to capture a unique sound that transcends the origins of the guitar while paying homage to various influences. One can perceive the echoes of the sounds of Antonio Bribiesca and Luiz Bonfa, mingled with the melancholic textures of Townes Van Zandt and Nick Drake. Without claiming their virtuosity, Danny Garcia infuses his compositions with a soul and vulnerability that characterize his work. The album Daniel presents itself as a series of warm acoustic meditations, where the fluidity of tracks like "El Monte" or "How Glad" coexists with the contemplative solitude of "Muchacho."
