The cult New York duo Ratatat (Evan Mast & Mike Strout) is finally back, 5 years later, with their new album "Magnifique". Their instrumental anthems are anything but conventional: a tangle of guitars sometimes sounding 70s progressive or psychedelic, sometimes nodding to heavy metal, disco keyboards, and hip-hop rhythms that can sometimes be fierce. All of it with a taste for polished production worthy of the greatest electro producers. Cult and unclassifiable, Ratatat also contributed to Kid Cudi’s first album and have done remixes for Björk, Notorious Big & Kanye West. Their tracks are very often used in sync placements (for brands like Jaguar & Apple, or for TV show idents: France 5, France Inter...), and they are very well placed to do the same.
