The band once again surprises with their eighth album, "The King Of Limbs". Anticipated for months, the release of their new opus was discreetly announced via a simple press release a few days before its digital release on the band's website. The band even afforded themselves the luxury of moving the release forward by a day, catching everyone off guard. Unlike the strategy used for "In Rainbows", the album available in digital format has a price set by the band; this time there's no free access for fans. "The King Of Limbs" opens with the layered and syncopated textures of the sublime "Bloom", one of the flagship tracks of this new album, where the focus is on electro, borrowing sounds from dubstep, a very trendy musical genre across the Channel. The band also flirts with world music on "Little By Little" and its sitar samples, but "The King Of Limbs" is definitively a Radiohead album. "Codex" with its ethereal melody, "Separator", and "Lotus Flower" all bear the band's trademark. "The King Of Limbs" is a complex work of incredible musical richness that proves once again that Radiohead is the greatest rock band of our time.
