In this long maze of experimental sounds and structures, Radiohead broke the verse-chorus mold, melted it down into a series of repetitive sonic dissertations that eventually collide in harmonic crossroads where a semblance of a chorus takes shape. Inspired by the musical theorems of electronic music (Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada), the band abandons rock to flirt with a cleverly written musical happening, generating sounds and sensations rather than frank emotion.
