Recently signed to Wichita Records, the Chicago trio HEALTH&BEAUTY release No Scare, their sixth album. HEALTH&BEAUTY is the entity under which Brian J Sulpizio has been releasing his productions since 2003, but the current line-up is made up of keyboardist Ben Boye (who also plays with Will Oldham and Angel Olsen, among others) and drummer Frank Rosaly (a regular collaborator of Peter Brtozmann and many other jazz or experimental musicians). The group, which took part last year in Ryley Walker’s Primrose Green, has toured in Europe in recent months with Kevin Morby and will follow up with dates in the UK. No Scare, which includes the track “War Time,” inspired by Neil Young’s “Hey Babe,” is the most euphoric album in the group’s discography, where light and shadow complement each other every time through Sulpizio’s brilliant songwriting.
