Nothing's About to Happen to Me is Mitski's eighth studio album. All songs and vocals are by Mitski. The album was produced and recorded by Patrick Hyland, and mastered by Bob Weston, with additional drum and logistics assistance from Kris Bulakowski. Building on the musical direction of The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, the album features live instrumentation performed by The Land's touring band as well as ensemble arrangements. The orchestra was recorded at Sunset Sound and TTG Studios, arranged and conducted by Drew Erickson, with sound engineering by Michael Harris and Isaac Diskin, and assistance from Alex Miller. Key singles include "Where's My Phone?", "I'll Change for You," and "If I Leave." Mitski is currently writing the music and lyrics for the musical adaptation of The Queen's Gambit. Her concert film Mitski: The Land recently had a theatrical release in 27 countries, accompanied by The Land: The Live Album.
