Yell At Cloud

A snowstorm in Winnipeg largely shaped Yell At Cloud, the second album by Plosivs, released in 2025. Gathered in December 2020 at the No Fun Club studio, John Reis (Drive Like Jehu, Hot Snakes), Rob Crow (Pinback), Atom Willard (Rocket From The Crypt, Against Me!), and Jordan Clark (Mrs. Magician) continued the sessions despite power outages and being unable to leave the premises, recording much of the album by candlelight and in intense cold. The ten tracks thus provide a darker and more claustrophobic follow-up to the 2022 debut album, driven by intertwining dissonant guitars, particularly tense drumming, and vocal harmonies illuminating lyrics marked by anxiety and threat. Remaining unfinished for several years, the tapes were finally revisited and mixed by Ben Moore, who was already responsible for the recording and mixing of the band's early work.
