Meta (Reissue) - Vinyle Vert Bouteille

Description

Founded in Cologne, Germany, in 1985, Pink Turns Blue blends the atmospheric pop of its European post-punk contemporaries with the buzzing punk dissonance of Hüsker Dü (the band takes its name from the song on Zen Arcade) and immediately fits into a new sonic canon that was foundational to the emergence of darkwave. The band gained recognition by touring clubs and circulating their early self-produced recordings. Released in 1987 and remastered by Josh Bonati for Dais, If Two Worlds Kiss is a seminal offering to the canon of darkwave DNA - a liquid lesson in melody, atmosphere, and rhythm - each track continuously adding to the journey like a new stop on a map of melancholy. Defined by their dynamic songwriting, their debut added a new urgency and depth to guitar-driven gothic rock, allowing fast songs like the single "Walking on Both Sides" to possess the same gloomy punch and melancholy as slower anthems like "When the Hammer Comes Down," which draws its power from the downbeat. This 2019 reissue from Dais Records has reintroduced this classic deathrock/darkwave masterpiece to audiences worldwide. Pressed on bottle green vinyl.
