Symphonies N°2 et N°3

Description

Symphonies 2 and 3 were composed in 1994 and 1995. They showcase the characteristic style of Philip Glass, which is known as repetitive and minimalist music. However, as time goes on, Glass becomes less radical and systematic in his compositional approach. The rhythm increasingly seems to be a subject of exploration, as well as polytonality. He thus reconnects with his style from the 70s. To realize this return to a loop, one only needs to listen to the 3rd movement of Symphony No. 3 and savor the free lyricism of the solo violin and the repetitive accompaniment.
